1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup butter softened
½ cup honey
3 egg whites
1 whole egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange zest
6 fresh figs, quartered
Directions (Honey Fig Cake Baking recipes)
- Mix the butter, honey, egg whites and egg in a bowl until creamy. Add the vanilla and orange zest and mix well.
- Fold in the flour, baking powder and salt then spoon the batter in a 9-inch round cake pan lined with baking paper.
- Top the batter with fig slices and bake in the preheated oven at 350F for 35-40 minutes.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.
