Cake:
4 eggs
1 cup white sugar
¼ cup butter, melted
4 tablespoons hot water
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoon matcha powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
Chocolate glaze:
1 cup dark chocolate chips
¼ cup butter
Directions (Matcha Chocolate Cake Baking Recipes)
- For the cake, sift the flour with salt, matcha powder and baking powder.
- Mix the eggs and white sugar until double in volume.
- Stir in the melted butter and hot water then fold in the flour mixture.
- Spoon the batter in a 9-inch round cake pan lined with baking paper.
- Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 350F for 35-40 minutes or until it passes the toothpick test.
- For the glaze, combine the chocolate chips and butter in a heatproof bowl and place over a hot water bath. Melt them together until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cake and serve right away or store in the fridge.
