The Generation Google Scholarship for women in computer science was established by google to help Women from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa who are interested in computer science as well as women who are pursuing gamin degrees to excel in technology and become leaders in the field.
The program aims to close the gap in gender equality in the gaming and tech industry, it is open to qualified applicants who meet all the minimum requirements and the scholarships will be offered based on academic background, the strength of each applicant’s impact on diversity, and leadership skills.
Who can apply?
Generation Google Scholarship: women in gaming:
- Registered as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the 2020-2021 academic year.
- Intend to study or be accepted as a full-time student in a bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program at an accredited university in Africa, Europe, or the Middle East, for the academic year 2021-2022.
- Be studying video game engineering, game programming, game design, and development, or a related field in gaming.
- Demonstrate a strong academic record.
- Demonstrate leadership and the motivation for improving the involvement of women in gaming Generation Google Scholarship: women in Computer science.
- Registered as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the 2020-2021 academic year.
- Intend to study or be accepted as a full-time student in a bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program at an accredited university in Africa, Europe, or the Middle East, for the academic year 2021-2022.
- Studying computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrate a strong academic record.
- Demonstrate leadership and the motivation for improving the underrepresented groups’ representation in computer science and technology Generation Google Scholarship: women in Computer science in Ireland.
- Registered as a first or second-year undergraduate student at a university in Ireland for the 2020-21 academic year.
- Intend to pursue their Bachelor’s degree at a university in Ireland for at least the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 academic years.
- Studying computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrate a strong academic record.
- Demonstrate leadership and the motivation for improving the underrepresented groups’ representation in computer science and technology.
How to apply
Applicants will have to complete an online application that includes:
- General background information such as contact information and details about the candidate’s current and intended universities.
- Resume/CV.
- Academic transcripts from the applicant’s current and prior institutions if they have earned a prior degree.
- A reference letter from an instructor, professor, adviser, or supervisor.
- Answers to four short answer essay questions.
