How to locate anywhere in UNIBEN (freshers)

Though this may sound funny to some readers; notwithstanding, there are students who don’t know their way in and out of UNIBEN especially freshers.
Because of shame or reasons known to them, they find it difficult to ask questions to get to where they intend to go.

Entrance gates in UNIBEN
There are three known gates into the university of Benin and one unknown. Let’s focus on the known gates. They are:
- Main gate
- Back gate
- Anatomy gate
The main gate is the popular one which faces the main road (Benin Lagos express road). The main gate is opposite Nadia and stop n shop.
The back gate is an entrance gate from Ekosodin. It was built because of the large number of UNIBEN students that stay in Ekosodin.
Anatomy gate is the entrance from behind UBTH. It’s aimed at giving easy access of movement to and fro UNIBEN and UBTH.
How to get to main gate
People who travel for post utme often find it difficult to locate UNIBEN main gate. I’ll be explaining how to get to main gate from 3 different locations.
- From Lagos: For those coming from Lagos, Tell the driver to stop you at maingate because that’s part of the route they take.
- From ring road: Locate shuttle park at ring road. It will take you straight to UNIBEN main gate. It’s #70. However, you can enter normal buses loading either oluku, isihor or main gate. It’s #100.
- From newbenin: Same as ring road
How to get to back gate from main gate
On entering UNIBEN via main gate, by the right, you’ll see buses loading. Enter the bus loading faculty/back gate and tell the driver to stop you at back gate.
How to get to anatomy gate from main gate
From maingate, look for buses loading either hall1,hall2,hall3,education, basement (it’s one bus) or loading Hall4,law,agric,law,hall5,basement (it’s one bus), then tell the driver to stop you at basement. Opposite basement, you’ll see a gate. That’s anatomy gate.

How to locate/get to Hall1,2,3 from maingate
These three hall of residence are located in the same place. From main gate enter a bus going to Hall1 or Hall2 or Hall3 (it’s the same bus) and tell the driver where you want to stop.

Enter the bus shouting Hall4, law, basement. Tell the driver to stop you at hall 4
How to get to hall 5 from main gate
Similar to hall 4, but stop at hall 5

Similar to hall 4, but stop at law
How to get to Buka from maingate
Similar to hall 4, but stop at buka

Opposite hall 4 unit b

Stop at hall 5 and take a stroll down the road

How to get to UNIBEN bookshop from maingate
Stop at education and ask around
How to get to John Harris library from main gate
Similar to hall1,2,3 and hall4 but stop at library
How to get to library extension from main gate

How to get to shopping complex from main gate
When you enter UNIBEN through maingate, look right. The complex there is shopping complex
How to get to green park from main gate
Similar to shopping complex, instead of looking right, look straight. Yeah, the park is green
How to get to sport complex from main gate
After the second green park, walk a little and look right. That gate leads to sport complex
How to get to auditorium from main gate
Enter UNIBEN via maingate, the building opposite you is auditorium
How to get to bank road from maingate
Look left on entering uniben. That road is bank road
How to get to USS from maingate
Walk down bank road.
How to get to UNIBEN guest house from maingate
Please enter cab
How to get to block of flats/ssq from main gate
Similar to back gate, stop at block of flats
How to get to NDDC hostel from back gate
Similar to Hall1,2,3 and hall4, stop at NDDC hostel
Every bus within UNIBEN is #30 and cab is #150. Shuttle is #70
