7 latest ways students in a Nigerian university can make money online (Nigerian students)
Hi guys. Welcome to the latest school news update.
Not quite long I dealt with the topic “latest ways to make money as a student in Nigeria“.
In that article, I exposed students to the 6 recent ways students make money in the university. One of those ways happens to be doing an online job.
In order not to bore readers with so many talks, I decided to do a separate article that will be exposing students to the numerous online opportunities available for them even as they study.
So read carefully.
The 7 latest ways Nigerian students can make money online while schooling
1. Freelancing
A freelancer is an independent contractor who is a self-employed individual and doesn’t have to commit to a single, long term employer.
Instead, they work independently for several companies or clients.
There are lots of platforms that help in achieving that. Platforms such as freelancer, Upwork, Fiverr etc.
This is very favourable as a student because you only work when your attention is needed and the pay is fast and secure.
All you need to get started is to register your details on any of the aforementioned platforms and hope to get customers and start earning.
2. Affiliate marketing
This is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliates own marketing efforts.
As you can infer from the definition, you don’t need to have a product or service to sell to be able to engage in affiliate marketing.
Just like freelancing, its initial start-up capital is zero.
Often times, money earned from affiliate marketing are commissions through sales made from your advert.
However, very few pay based on the number of customers you refer to their website without considering if sales were made or not.
This happens to be less stressful if you have a blog.
You receive commissions based on the number of people who buys a product through the link displayed on your blog.
Lastly, it helps to grow your marketing skills which are very important in the present-day world.
3. E-commerce website
This is similar to be a middle man.
All you need is to have a website where people come to list and sell products online.
Examples of such website in Nigeria are Jumia, Konga etc.
You get commissions based on the number of sales made through your E-commerce website.
4.Dropshipping
This is more like a delivery agent. You help take people orders, get the product they need and deliver it to them. You earn money based on the delivery fee you charged them which is usually more than the cost of transportation.
5. Sell books online
These are websites that major in selling E-books.
All that is required is having an original story {fictional or non-fictional}, list them on the site for a price and start earning money from any book that gets sold. In Nigeria, okadabooks is one platform you can use.
However, if you want to be present in the global market, go for amazon.
6. Virtual tutoring
I remember listing tutoring as one of the numerous ways students can make money while in school.
However, if you wish to get more audience, you can try tutoring online as this will give you a bigger audience and lots of cool cash.
There are lot’s of ways to go about it
a. Creating a youtube page: You get paid based on ads displayed on your page.
b. Having your vlog: You can get paid either by displayed ads or sales of the videos.
c. Using udemy: Here, you get paid based on the price listed for the sale of the video.
7. Make yourself a blog or vlog
With consistency and determination, you can make a lot of cool cash from blogging.
All you need is to share new, refreshing and eye-catching content with the aim of having a lot of visitors.
The higher the visitors, the higher the traffic. Then you can start placing ads on your blog for some cool cash. The most common and secure way is having google AdSense on your blog.
Having a vlog has been made easier by youtube same way building a site has been made easier by WordPress.
Instead of sharing information by writing, you do it by video recording.
The 7 listed money-making strategy are but few of the numerous ways you can make money online as a student.
You can decide to be a creator for opera news hub, go into web design, programming etc.
The aim is to earn money not to fail as a student. So, even as you embark on one of these; always put your studies as a priority.
