Ever wonder what skin type you have?
The skin is the biggest organ in the body. Knowing your skin type will go a long way in helping you fight any skincare issue. Most people fail in their skincare journey because of a lack of proper knowledge in their skin type. This lack of knowledge makes people mistreat their skin with a harsh product that is unsuitable for their skin. Knowing your skin type is not as easy as it may seem but it is actually worth it.
There are five main skin types: normal, dry, oily, combination and sensitive. knowing the different types of skin and which one you have will help give you a better idea of how to treat acne breakouts and achieve smooth, clear skin. There are so many products on the market each has a different target for different skin types. But people find it difficult to figure out their skin type which hinders them from buying the right product for their skin.
It is actually very difficult to determine your skin type because it changes with time and can also be affected by hormones, diet, and climate. If I’m not mistaken, age can also be a factor. For example, younger people are more likely to have a normal skin type. However, most times it is determined by genetics.
Skin types depend on so many things like how much water content is in it, how oily it is, how sensitive it is etc. Here’s some advice from dermatologists on how to figure out your own skin type, along with skincare tips and cleanser and moisturizer recommendations for each.
